Building an Early Foundation for Learning
At Little Beginnings, our Toddler Program caters to children aged 18 to 30 months, offering them a warm and dynamic environment where they can play, develop, and learn. Our program is tailored to set up each child on the best little beginning possible, focusing on their individual interests and skills.
Structured Yet Flexible Environment
Our full-day Toddler program is designed to support the social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development of each child. By integrating the four foundations of learning – belonging, engagement, expression, and well-being – we create a nurturing environment that balances structured activities with free choice and exposure to various materials.
Safe and Stimulating Exploration
Toddlers are given the freedom to explore in a safe and stimulating environment, both indoors and outdoors. Our educators are adept at observing play and designing environments that support child-directed and educator-supported learning. Social interactions are gently encouraged through thoughtful teacher guidance.
Nutrition and Rest
We provide two healthy snacks and a warm homemade lunch daily, ensuring that our toddlers are well-nourished for their active day. A restful two-hour nap or quiet time is also part of our daily routine, providing children with the necessary downtime on a cozy cot.
Tailored Learning and Early Literacy
We understand the importance of early literacy and incorporate the Heggerty program into our curriculum. This program is effective in teaching age-appropriate phonemic awareness skills, essential for early literacy development. Through 35 weeks of systematic language play activities, we foster phonemic awareness, laying a strong foundation for future reading and writing skills.
A Place to Belong Under the Reading Trees
In our Toddler classrooms, every child finds a place to belong. We gather under our Reading Trees, creating a community where each child feels recognized and valued. This sense of belonging is integral to our vision at Little Beginnings, where individuality and community spirit are harmoniously nurtured.
STEAM-Based Approach to Learning Provocations
Our approach to learning provocations is inspired by STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics). We provide stimulating and interactive experiences that encourage exploration and creativity, ensuring a comprehensive developmental experience for our toddlers.
